New Temple Update

ISKCON is delighted to share the latest developments on our upcoming state-of-the-art Mandir (temple) at our existing 9-acre compound in Burnaby. This new mandir will be a spiritual and cultural sanctuary, dedicated to the teachings of Lord Krishna and the vision of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. The Mandir will be a vibrant hub for spiritual growth, cultural celebration, and community engagement.
Rooted in the timeless wisdom of the Vedic tradition, it will offer a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds to experience the joy of bhakti-yoga (devotional service), kirtan (chanting), sacred rituals, ands piritual education.
Our vision is not only to build a place of worship but to create a community that nurtures the soul, fosters harmony, and promotes a way of life based on compassion, simplicity, and self-realization.
Key Features
- Temple Hall with deities of Sri Sri Radha Madan Mohan, Sri Sri Radha Madan Gopal, Lord Jagannatha, Lord Baladeva, Srimati Subhadra Ji, Lord Caitanya, Lord Nityananda and Gaura Nitai.
- Community Center for cultural events and celebrations, yoga, meditation, and kirtan training.
- Radharani’s Kitchen - prasadam hall serving sanctified vegetarian meals to all, including free meals for everyone.
- Educational Facilities for regular classes on the Bhagavad-gītā, Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, and Vedic philosophy.
- Youth & Children’s Programs focused on spiritual education, character development, and cultural activities.
- Eco-Conscious Design with sustainable building practices, gardens, and green spaces celebrating Krishna’s love for nature.
Community Impact & Progress
This Mandir will enrich BC’s multicultural landscape, welcoming those seeking spiritual meaning, cultural enrichment, and inner peace.Through outreach programs, festivals like Ratha-Yatra, and service initiatives, the temple will promote values of unity, devotion, and service.
Recent Milestones
- Geotechnical subsurface exploration completed (1 shallow auger-hole and 2 cone penetration tests).
- Arborist reports with comprehensive tree retention and management plans.
- Architect’s conceptual plans updated.
- Structural, civil, electrical, and code consultants engaged, along with other specialized trades.
- Development permit (PPA) under progressive review by the City of Burnaby.
